Read and write reviews about Scientific Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. As one of the leading research and educational centres in Slovenia, the SRC SASA ranks as one of the cutting-edge academic institutions in Central and South-Eastern Europe. As of 2004 the Centre comprises an independent network of researchers and technicians who study cultural, social and natural phenomena, issues and practices, within the framework of our research groups and seventeen (17) institutes. We typically compare our results to similar results from foreign scientists, present them at academic and technical conferences in Slovenia and abroad, and ensure their dissemination in the domestic and foreign academic environment through publication in foreign and domestic journals. In addition to printed media we also publish our results in the forms of presentational and research films, maps, CDs, posters and exhibitions, as well as on the Internet. For simpler and more efficient distribution of our research results, thirteen years ago (1993) we founded our own publishing house Založba ZRC/ZRC Publishing, and during just the first half of its existence built it into the core Slovene academic publisher. In addition, we opened our bookstore Azil/Asylum in October 2003, which is now on the way to becoming a central sales point for academic literature in the humanities and social sciences.
