Tribuna was first a student newspaper of the Union of Socialist Youth of the Republic of Slovenia, later the Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana. It was published from 1951 to 1998, as a weekly or biweekly, and has reached two publishing peaks - in sixties and nineties. Some of the issues have led to dismissal of the editorial board, arrests of editors and, in some cases, charges against them. It was issued on the locations of the University of Ljubljana and proactive distributors have made sure that copies also reached other parts of Slovenia. 19. 5. 2006 a special issue was published dureing the student protests against tuition fees.
