Škofja Loka Passion Play is penitential Passion procession. It is the oldest preserved play in Slovene, which was written by Father Romuald Marušič in 1721 in in the Capuchin monastery in the town of Škofja Loka. On each 6 years it is performed during fasting and Easter time in the streets of the ancient town of Škofja Loka by more that 1000 volunteers. In 2012 it was declared to be intangible cultural heritage of special national significance, and in 2016 the Škofja Loka Passion Play was inscribed to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
